After only one month the dryer drum was making a loud noise and would not turn without my giving it a turn, the tech that came out determined the drum was out of round, the next day the drum was replaced and it's working fine. If there is a lemon in the bunch I will get it.

Bought this along with the matching washer. Best part is I was able to have a technician I assemble them to get them down a very narrow staircase and reassemble in the basement. After lots of research this is the only brand that is able to be disassembled. They work great, no frills, and are built to last. Any initial investment is offset by the long life expected of the machine

Love the dryer. dries faster, less wrinkles than my previous unit. I held off writing this until we had used it for several months to really dial in on it's good vs. bad. Only has one fault - the lint trap.
Here's the deal - the only way to stop the dryer in mid cycle is to pop the door. The dryer can't be stopped from the control panel unless you turn the timer all the way to the stop position. Here is where we have a problem - if you pop the door your clothes fall onto the exposed lint trap leaving dust bunnies on your clothes. The lint trap on our old dryer was not exposed to the clothing so this didn't happen.
The lint trap needs to be shielded from the clothes. Fix the lint trap issue and this would be 5 stars.

I was skeptical when we purchased Speed Queen washer and dryer. But it had an agitator, adjustable water levels, wash time, water temperature, and washer options for different levels of dirt. After delivery the first load was impressive but I was still skeptical. I checked the water level with each load and was pleasantly surprised that it actually covered the clothes even on the Eco water saver setting. After many loads I can truthfully say this is the best washing machine I have ever owned.

I love my washing machine. I had a front loader that I hated. I can fit almost as many clothes in my top loader as I could my big top loader.I have water in my machine which get the soap out of my clothes and they are clean and soft yeah!I have owned this machine about a month and wash clothes just for fun now.I have been washing all the clothes in my closet drawers ect just so I know my clothes are clean again.

I was hesitant to get a top loading machine since I am used to my front loader. My new home only has room for a top loader. On a recommendation from a friend I bought this Speed Queen and I love it. It takes less time for a load and clothes are clean. I am thinking the next time I have to replace my front loader in my other house I will get a Speed Queen. I love the dials instead of digital too. I am 5 foot 1 inch and a top loader was a concern but I am able to reach the bottom without a stool. I tried some in the store and was unable to reach.

I originally purchased the Maytag washer and dryer and was very disappointed - I returned them after 4 days and reordered the Speed Queen machines ( I was debating between the two). I totally love them - you get what you pay for! Clothes are dried and washed well and in a very timely manner. Highly recommended!

I am pleased with the performance of both my new washer and dryer with just a few exceptions! Regarding the washer I’m not crazy about the locking mechanism. My children are grown and other than a safety issue, I’m not sure what purpose it serves. Regarding the dryer I have an issue with a dark load in particular...when you open the dryer door too frequently a piece of clothing will fall into the lint screen and pick up lots of lint. That can be annoying. I haven’t quite figured out how to prevent that from happening.

My husband works in industrial electricity and often is in muddy environments. He wears company supplied uniform denim pants. I wash ONLY 3 pairs and nothing else in warm water, heavy duty cycle, extra rinse in Tide liquid detergent. The pants do not come clean. They came clean in our old $450 washer. They come clean in my MIL's basic top load machine. They come clean in coworkers' machines. I went to the store to buy another $450 machine but the dimensions of the Speed Queen fit better for what we needed and the salesperson said I wouldn't believe how clean my clothes were! I wish I had stayed with the original plan. I'm out $950 and still have to go to the laundromat to wash his pants. I would rather buy another $450 machine in 7 years and have clean clothes!

I like the washer since I can set the Temp to Hot and Function to Heavy Duty and actually get Hot water to wash my white bath towels super clean. No other machine on the market has this feature, they only have "Eco" mode, which bypasses hot water for normal washes. My wife likes the dryer since the extended tumble on no heat finishes her clothes so no ironing or steaming is necessary

I have not been totally thrilled with the dryer and washer. I have had better. The washer leaks fabric softener onto the clean clothes. I have washed clothes for more years and have never had this issue. Also does not dissolve powder well in cold water.
The dryer doesn't pick up lint as well as I expected. I have to use dryer sheets as I have the problem mentioned above.

I love everything about this dryer except the placement of the lint screen. Unfortunately, the clothes fall into the lint screen when you open the door to the dryer thus getting lint on your clean clothes! A simple fix would've been for Speed Queen to add a button to turn the dryer off before opening the door. Besides that annoyance, the machine dries very fast compared to my previous HE machine. Most loads are dry within 40 minutes. The only reason I wouldn't recommend to a friend is the lint screen issue.

Pleased with the amount of water it uses, we had to purchase an efficiency washer before and part of the clothes were coming out dry and I had to rewash or trick it to get stuff clean, so much for efficiency!! This washer washes in half the time and cleans much better and the dryer is wonderful, also dry's very quickly!!

Already have SQ washer. Cleans better than any other machine I have had. Needed dryer. No question I would purchase another Speed Queen. Solid built, no electronics to reduce life span on the model I purchased. Can be repaired if part wears out for much less than the cost of new machine. I expect these machines to be the last ones I have to purchase in my lifetime. I am 61.
